The Spanish ambassador to Cape Verde, Luis Ignacio Boné Calvo, died, last Sunday, of natural causes, according to information provided to The Diplomat by sources within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
When he passed away, Luis Boné was in Cape Verde, where he’d arrived last summer,only seven months ago, to take charge of the embassy.
The deceased diplomat was 64 years old, and entered the Diplomatic Corps in 1986. Before being named ambassador in Praia, he was in a number of posts abroad, among them London, Montevideo and Rabat.
