Marca España has started sending letters to institutions and organizations to ask for their collaboration through the spreading of a three-minute video, produced by Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE), with which it intends to strengthen Spain’s image in the world as a modern and leading country in many aspects.
This promotional video tries to avoid “outmoded stereotypes that do not correspond to the reality” of the country, according to studies carried out by Elcano Royal Institute, through the slogan “Everything you hope for and much more than you imagine”. It includes images of its excellence through the representation of the word E-S-P-A-Ñ-A. An “E” for “empresa” (company); an “S” for “sol” (sun); a “P” for “patrimonio” (heritage); an “A” for “arte” (art) ; an “Ñ” as an homage to the Spanish language; and an “A” for “avance” (advance).
Sources of this promotion institution pointed out to The Diplomat that this audiovisual document is being sent through diplomatic bag to Spanish embassies and consulates abroad, as well as to foreign embassies accredited in Madrid. For that, a version in English, French and German has been made.
It will also send letters with the video to presidents of institutions such as the Constitutional Court, the Council of State, the Congress of Deputies, the Senate, the Central Electoral Board, the General Council of the Judiciary, the Court of Auditors, as well as the Ombudsman.
The video shows the Spanish excellence in tourism, business, technology, sports and culture
Besides, it will be sent to leaders of political parties such as IU, PSOE, PP, Coalición Canaria, Partido Nacionalista Vasco, Unión Democrática de Cataluña, Convergencia Democrática de Cataluña, Unión del Pueblo Navarro, Foro Asturias, Ciudadanos, UPyD, Esquerra Republicana, Geroa Bai and Bloque Nacionalista Galego.
The presidents of the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises and of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations will also receive the missive, which will also be sent to the trade unions UGT and CCOO, Chambers of Commerce, Turespaña, the International Olympic Committee and important Spanish media.
The High Commissioner of the Government for Marca España, Carlos Espinosa de los Monteros, presented this video to the media on 15 January, during a press conference, where he made a positive balance of the institution in 2014 and where he asked for the support of the Spanish people in the promotion of the country.
