‘Bollywood Boulevard’, by Camille Ponsin, at the French Institute

January 22, 2015
in Movies

This afternoon at 20:00 hrs, the Theatre of the French Institute of Madrid (12 Marqués de la Ensenada Street) screens the film Bollywood Boulevard, by director Camille Ponsin. The film will be screened in original version (English and Hindi) with Spanish subtitles. Admission will be free while seats are available.

Sanjay’s could be a Hollywood story, a young gypsy man who became a model. The saga of a smith’s child raised in the streets of New Delhi, who makes his youth dreams come true in the podiums of Bombay. However, Sanjay, aged 22 years old, is not a fiction hero. He is the main character of the surprising documentary by Camille Ponsin. A film that was possible thanks to a singular transgression: that of a director who dared to go beyond the observer’s role to revolutionize the destiny of the young man he was filming, giving him the chance to “try his luck”. An original initiative that allows reflecting on the frontier between a documentary’s author and their “star”.
