The four big Spanish banks–Santander, BBVA, Caixabank y Bankia- made profits of 7,452 million euros, which represents a 2% growth compared to the first nine months of 2013. It is due to an increase in income and a lesser need for sanitation. Santander Bank was top of profits list again, with a 4,361 million net gain, while Bankia confirmed their recuperation after the nationalisation, with gains of 696 million.
