In 2013 Spain received 4,513 asylum requests, up 74.4% from the previous year, according to the Asylum in numbers report, published on 6 November by the Minister of the Interior. With a 20.6% admission rate, it is noteworthy that there is none from Mali, despite making up a third of the requests; 1,482. The greater part of those admitted come from Palestine (63) and Pakistan (60). As far as Latin America is concerned, 62 requests were registered from Colombia (four accepted) and 58 from Cuba (only two admitted).
