King Juan Carlos is receiving numerous requests from a variety of institutions across Spain to pay homage to him for his nearly forty years as Head of State.
The Secretariat that deals with Juan Carlos’ affairs is studying the letters as they arrive, some of which include a number bestowing prizes as well as requests for him to visit certain places now that his official obligations have lessened.
It was announced recently that Don Juan Carlos would move his office from the Zarzuela Palace to the Royal Palace, in order to avoid interfering with his son Felipe VI’s functions. There he will carry out his schedule, which would include fulfilling any obligations passed onto him by the Royal Household, as happened recently when he went to the Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos’ second inauguration.
