Photographic exhibition ‘Sitio’, by Marie Bovo, at the Institut Français of Madrid

September 23, 2014
in Culture & Art

Until next Saturday 1 November, and with the collaboration of the French gallery kamel mennour (Paris), the Instiut Français (12 Marqués de la Ensenada Street of Madrid) presents the exhibition Sitio, by photographer Marie Bovo, born in Alicante (Spain) in 1967, but settled in France since she was a child.

Marie Bovo spent her childhood in Spain with her grandparents before moving to France to follow her mother. With a large format camera, she explores the times spiralling and in labyrinthine spaces. Marie Bovo is not an instant photographer; all in her work (her themes organized in series, the related images, etc.) takes us to a relaxed time, even to temporary cycles. Maybe is a way of resisting the wave of all types of images that stop having a meaning in the end.
