July 3, 2014
in Uncategorized

For the fourth year running the best of the world Latin jazz scene arrives in Madrid, brought to us by the Clazz Continental Latin Jazz Festival. In previous years it has featured artists like Paquito D’Rivera, Eddie Palmieri, David Murray, Chano Domínguez, Pepe Rivero, Jorge Pardo, Néstor Torres, Alain Pérez, Omar Sosa, Juan Gómez “Chicuelo”, Javier Colina, Bobby Martinez, Jerry Gonzalez and a very long etcetera. The festival opens this afternoon with the concert of the Michael Camilo Trio with Pedro Rui Blas. The second concert, tomorrow, 4 July, will feature Giovanni Hidalgo and the Havana Street Band with Iván ‘Melon’ Lewis and Magos & Limón, and, as a finishing touch Paquito D´Rivera’s 60th anniversary concert, which will include performances by Ariadna Castellanos and Pepe Rivero.

Clazz brings together the most representative figures of Latin Jazz, a genre that each day garners more fans among all publics due to its attractive rhythms. It allows us to enjoy a new generation of musicians, together with those more established ones, which are elevating this genre with their virtuoso performances.

The concerts begin at 21:30 hrs., in the Sala Roja of the theatre. More information on their website.
