The Summer Festival of The Theatre Auditorium of San Lorenzo de El Escorial of the Community of Madrid pays tribute to master Paco de Lucía with a symphonic concert by guitarist Cañizares accompanied by flamenco singer Ginesa Ortega and with the Orchestra of Cadaqués. The concert, whose tickets are available from 24 euros, is celebrated today, Saturday 12 July, at the Theatre Auditorium.
For the musicians of the Orchestra of Cadaqués, this concert has a more than special meaning, taking into account that they were the ones in charge of accompanying the master in the only recording of the master piece of Spanish guitar, the Concierto de Aranjuez, in the year 1991. On the occasion of the artist’s death last February, the Festival and the Orchestra of Cadaqués have decided the celebration of this concert will be the best tribute. That is why the director is Edmon Colomer again and to evoke the irreplaceable musician, it will have the presence of Cañizares, withot a doubt, the most prestigious flamenco guitarist of his generation that has played with masters of the stature of Simon Rattle. To complete the concert, he will play some master pieces of the Spanish repertoire, with works by Falla, Albéniz and Turina with singer Ginesa Ortega.
The programme is made up of: La oración del torero (Turina), El amor brujo (Falla), Tres paisajes andaluces: Córdoba, Granada, Cádiz (Albéniz- Guinovart), as well as the Concierto de Aranjuez (Rodrigo).
