June 9, 2014
in Books

Various authors.

Following the publication of Sons of the voyage. Seven contemporary Arab poets in Spain, Casa Árabe Madrid brings together Talat Shahin (Egypt), Mohamad Osman (Syria), Malak Mustafa (Syria), Muhsin Al-Ramli (Iraq), Abdul Hadi Sadoun (Iraq), Ahmad Yamani (Egypt) y Khalid Kaki (Iraq). The artists will take part in an event which will feature readings in Arabic and Spanish as well as musical interludes, led by Khalid Kaki a renowned lute player. The presenter will be José Sarria, editor of the anthology.

The event will take place at the Casa Árabe Auditorium (c/Alcalá, 62) at 19:00 hrs. Free entry, limited seating.

Sons of the voyage is not just an anthology of a number of contemporary Arab poets (Syrian, Egyptian and Iraqi) resident in Spain, it is also something that transcends literature. This anthology contributes that which is key in the recognition of both othernesses: an opportunity for a mutual understanding which is, without a doubt, the foundation for a future coming together.
