The Royal Household and the Government have received in the last few days numerous requests from Spanish authorities and personalities who are expressing an interest in being present at the formal dinner that Their Royal Highnesses will offer for the Mexican president and his wife, on Monday, 9 June, at the Royal Palace. The fact that it is the last State visit that Juan Carlos I will host as Monarch has meant that there has been a sharp increase in the interest shown in attending an event to which have been invited the principal authorities of the country as well as Spanish and Mexicans resident in Spain who stand out for their involvement in some aspect of the world of culture, the economy or society. Some sources believe the guest list will contain around one hundred names.
The Mexican Embassy in Madrid has also received many requests to attend the farewell reception that the Mexican President, Peña Nieto will offer on Tuesday, 10 June, at the El Pardo Palace, which will also be attended by Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia as well as the Princes of Asturias, future King and Queen of Spain.
