Celebrate the European Day of Music

There are several possibilities among the functions of the European Day of Music, which has been celebrated every 21June since 1985 and every summer solstice connects tens of European cities through culture.

 

‘Renacimiento and Sefarad’ in the Sepharad-Israel Centre

Concert of vocal music by the choir from Madrid Juventud Acumulada. Its 9 members will play a selection of Renaissance music and traditional Sephardic songs. “Durme, durme”, “Los bilbilicos” or “Adío querida” will be played at the Sepharad-Israel Centre –Palace of Cañete: 69 Mayor Street, tomorrow Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Free admission.

Outdoors concerts at the French Institute

This afternoon, starting at 8:00 p.m., the courtyard of the French Institute (10-12 Marqués de la Ensenada Street, -Access through ramp.- Madrid)will be filled with live music to celebrate the European Day of Music. Les Fines Pôlettes, Tawas and Ménilmontant Swing will entertain the musical night. Free admission while seats are available.

 

 

Concert “Algarabía” in the Arab House of Córdoba

 

In the seventh edition of the Flamenco’s White Night, the Arab House of Córdoba organizes the concert ‘Algarabía’, which gives the finishing touch to the project of the School of Arab-flamenco Music of the Arab House. The School has gathered together in Córdoba young artists coming from different musical backgrounds, so that they share a training period and get familiar with the basis of the two musical systems, exploring the relationship between both styles.

 

The performance will take place at the Abades Square in Córdoba at 2:30 a.m. of 22 June. Free entry.
