Yulia, an experienced war correspondent that is covering the Arab Spring, manages to enter Syria illicitly in order to report on the dangerous conflict. On the way she crosses paths with the handsome Omar, a young poet who has miraculously survived. Yulia is instantly attracted to him. Pursued by men sent by Al Assad’s Government, Omar is forced to flee. Yulia decides to go with him to the siege of Baba Amro, in Homs, where one of the bloodiest episodes of the Civil War takes place. Hand in hand with the Syrian, Yulia little by little begins to involve herself in this foreign dispute. She empathises with the conflict and with its cause and makes decision she will not be able to turn back from.
Without any control over events and with the chaotic and unpredictable backdrop of the Civil War, Yulia becomes embroiled in events which will lead to her risking her own life. Trapped between two worlds, pressured by the CIA and by Islamic radicals, split between right and wrong, peace and violence, religion and atheism… will Yulia betray Omar’s ideals? Or will she decide to take her fight against injustice and the violence in Syria until the bitter end?
