The PP leaders dislike the attitude the PSOE is keeping in relation to the possibility that Miguel Arias Cañete becomes a member of the European Commission after the 25-M election. In the ranks of the PP is recalled that there has always been an unspoken pact to support Spanish candidates by the two major national parties and, in particular, point out that when the Jacques Santer’s commission fell, populars supported as commissioner to the socialist Manuel Marin. Above all, they warn that if the PSOE continues its campaign against Arias Cañete after the election, they could aerate some compromising information on socialists candidates to be commissar, especially some of countries of Eastern Europe.
