The president of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, intends Spain to join the megaproject of the train that, crossing Bolivia, will connect the Pacific coast of Peru with the Atlantic port of Santos, in Brazil, and that the Bolivian president, Evo Morales, has baptized as the «Panama Canal of the 21st Century«.
According to Europa Press, Sánchez will take advantage of his visit to La Paz on the 28th to sign a memorandum of understanding that will allow the unloading of investments and Spanish companies in this great engineering project.
The project has been promoted by Morales and already has the participation of Peru, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Through almost 4,000 kilometers of track, this train would unite, in an unprecedented work in South America, the two oceans promoting commerce and tourism in the region, which would deepen their integration, an objective that Spain has always supported.
