The Government of Spain has expressed its regret at the passing of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Paraguay, Luis Roberto Gneiting, in a plane crash and has conveyed his deepest condolences to the families of the minister and the rest of the victims, «as well as to the Government and the people of Paraguay”.
Gneiting and two other people – the Deputy Minister of Livestock, Vicente Ramírez; a technician from the Ministry, Luis Eladio Charotti; and the pilot Gerardo Baby López- have died after the plane they were traveling in crashed near the city of Ayolas, on the border with Argentina and 300 kilometers south of the Paraguayan capital, Asunción.
Luis Roberto Gneiting, 50, had taken office last May. The fact is that the same pilot was forced, in July 2012, to make a forced landing when he moved the then Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Enzo Cardozo.
