British insurer Admiral will be the first company to take its continental business out of the UK after the Brexit. It will do so by creating in Spain an entity that will be head of the Admiral Europe group and will start operating in January 2019, with the approval of the Ministry of Economy.
Admiral, with total revenues of nearly 3,000 million pounds (3,360 million euros), operates in Spain as a branch of its British parent company and sells auto insurance through the brand Qualitas Auto and comparators Rastreator and Balumba, but now it will create an insurance company in Madrid (Admiral Europe) and an insurance brokerage in Seville (Admiral Intermediary Services).
