The Governments of Spain and Andorra yesterday welcomed the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the signing and entry into force of the Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, by which Spain and France recognized Andorra as a State and established diplomatic relations with this country.
In the twenty-five years since then, according to the Joint Declaration of both governments, «Spain and Andorra have cemented, on solid common values, a privileged relationship in all areas that is a faithful reflection of the strong human, cultural and economic ties between our countries».
«The result of this excellent relationship», Declaration adds, «cooperation between Spain and Andorra has reached an exceptional level in areas such as education, health, environment, security or transport». Likewise, the solid cooperation maintained in the international framework has been intensified, «as demonstrated by Spain’s support for the development of relations between Andorra and the European Union and the close collaboration maintained between our countries within the Ibero-American space».
