The President of the Chamber of Spain, José Luis Bonet, granted the Gold Medal of the Order of the Chamber to Santiago Rengifo, president of the Spanish section of the Hispano-Colombian Bilateral Committee in the last 24 years, in recognition of «his commitment and dedication».
 
During the ceremony, Bonet highlighted «the great work» and the «numerous activities» developed by Rengifo at the head of the Committee, «from the commercial missions organized by the Chambers, where you always supported with your presence and experience, to the invitation to senior representatives of the Colombian Government to visit us, making known the potential of the companies and bringing the entrepreneurs from both countries closer».
 
Likewise, José Luis Bonet recalled that Rengifo received, in May 2018, from the hands of then President Juan Manuel Santos, the Cruz de Boyacá, the highest distinction of the Republic of Colombia, for «its decisive role in strengthening trade relations between Spain and Colombia».
 
In his words of gratitude for the award of the medal, Santiago Rengifo stressed that much of the progress of Colombia in recent years is due to the investments made by Spanish companies and showed its commitment to continue working at the service of the Chamber of Spain and of Colombia.
