Zambia’s Government, which has no resident Ambassador in Madrid, has appointed Cantabrian businessman Ramón Díaz de Bustamante as the country’s new honorary consul in Spain.
Diaz de Bustamante, 53, is an expert on Zambia, since he has dedicated the last 22 years to promote the development of the country, trying to make it better known to the Spanish business community. In fact, he created the consulting company African Bureau to advise Spanish companies interested in that market and, specifically, in the construction, infrastructure, energy and tourism sectors, in which Zambia offers opportunities.
The new consul, who believes that Zambia is political and economically one of the most stable countries in the African continent and that offers significant incentives for foreign investment, has three hotel concessions in different national parks and is a guide and organizer of photographic safaris.
