Social tension in Catalonia provoked by the pro-independence process and the terrorist attacks a year ago have caused Barcelona to descend seven places, from eighth to fifteenth, in the ranking of the cities with the best reputation in the world, according to the new edition of the study ‘City RepTrak 2018’ conducted by the Reputation Institute.
The vice president of global accounts of the Reputation Institute, Enrique Johnson, explained, as he presented the study, that social tensions in Barcelona have their direct negative impact and that the decline of the Catalan capital in this list is also caused by other factors such as terrorists attacks.
However, Barcelona remains the first Spanish city in the study. Madrid has gained two positions with respect to the previous year, going from position 21 to 19.
