The diplomat Fernando Nogales, who was assigned as «number two» in the Embassy of Spain to Poland, will be the new responsible for United States and Canada’s Affairs, in the General Directorate of North America, Eastern Europe, Asia and Pacific, which Ana Sálomon took over recently.
Nogales, who replaces Santiago Gómez-Acebo, after his appointment as Ambassador to Zimbabwe, had previously been assigned to the Permanent Representation to the EU and had been Deputy General Director for EU countries, among other positions.
