The replacement of Ildefonso Castro by Fernando Valenzuela as secretary of State for Foreign Affairs has also meant a change in their Chief of Staff Office. On Saturday, the Official State Gazette published the cessation of Susana Cámara in the position and the appointment of Esther Monterrubio.
Until a week ago, Esther Monterrubio was Ambassador on Special Mission for Peace Maintenance Operations, a position she had held since July 2012, after having been, for about a year, Ambassador on Special Mission for International Affairs of the Environment and Sustainable Development. She has also been deputy director general of Eastern Europe and director of the Office of the Government of Aragón in Madrid.
For his part, Raúl Bartolomé has been confirmed as director of Office of the secretary of State for the EU, Marco Aguiriano, who, for the moment, has decided not to make any changes in the team that he inherited from Jorge Toledo.
In the third of the secretariats of State, that of International Cooperation and for Ibero-America and the Caribbean, which is now led by Juan Pablo de Laiglesia, the head of Office to date is Jorge Friend.
