The Spanish technology and consulting company Indra has opened a new office in Rabat with the aim of boosting its competitive capacity in Africa and of taking advantage of the potential of Morocco, a country in which it has been present for more than 20 years.

«There is no doubt that Morocco is a key country for Indra, both for the development in this country, and for its projection throughout the African continent», said Indra’s director in Morocco, Fadi Dak Elbab. «The Maroc Digital 2020 Plan is an example of the new opportunities presented by Morocco, which is moving towards digital transformation and modernization», he continued.

According to the Spanish multinational, Morocco presents opportunities in markets in which Indra «has already developed emblematic projects», such as air traffic, transport, or security, as well as others of great projection, such as the information technology sector, driven by the Maroc Digital 2020 Plan.

Among the projects that Indra has already carried out in Morocco, Da Vinci’s technological implementation in the country’s rail network for the integral management of rail traffic stands out. In addition, the company has been collaborating with the Office National Des Aéroports (ONDA) of Morocco for more than a decade to modernize its air traffic management systems.

On the other hand, from this new strategic enclave of Rabat, Indra will try to expand its business both in Morocco and throughout the region, taking advantage of «the bilateral relations between Morocco and West and Central Africa». Indra has been present in Africa since 1995, with offices in Morocco, Algeria, Kenya, Libya, Senegal, Mozambique, South Africa and Zambia.

The company has a strong leadership in Africa in the implementation of energy solutions in electricity companies and as a provider of management systems and air traffic control and airport services.

In addition, Indra has an important position in the Maghreb region, where it promotes technological projects in countries such as Algeria, Libya or Tunisia in areas such as maritime, air and rail traffic, the digitization of public administrations or the improvement of energy management.
