Furmanski will be replaced, predictably, by the veteran journalist Juan Carlos Iragorri, current correspondent in Washington of Semana magazine and RCN Radio, according to information broadcasted by Felipe Zuleta on the Colombian radio station Blu Radio, adding that the future Ambassador would renounce his current Spanish nationality.
Juan Carlos Iragorri, 57, has a long career as a journalist. He served for years served in Spain as a press advisor to the Colombian Embassy and, later, as a correspondent for El Tiempo in Madrid. He has been awarded several prizes, including the Rey Juan Carlos International Journalism Award and since 2011 he lives in the United States.
