The Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) has approved the call for grants for development cooperation projects for the year 2018.
The beneficiaries of this call will be the non-governmental organizations for development (NGDO) registered in the AECID Registry and the NGO groups without legal personality whose members meet the requirements demanded individually.
The call will be financed by the General State Budget for the year 2018 for an amount of 18 million euros, expandable up to four million additional euros.

The objective of these grants is «the financing of projects in the field of international cooperation for development carried out by the NGDOs in collaboration with the Spanish cooperation policy», according to the resolution, published by the BOE and signed by the newly appointed Director of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development, Aina María Calvo Sastre.
In the previous exercise, the AECID granted a total of 19.4 million to the NGDOs for a total of 69 development cooperation projects. Ayuda en Acción and Médicos del Mundo were the most benefited organizations.
