The CIVICS interactive map, which records thousands of citizen innovation projects in Ibero-America, received the award granted by the European Union-Latin America and the Caribbean (EU-LAC) Foundation in the category of «Citizen Initiatives».
In this second edition of the Prize, the jury assessed the map as «a space and an important methodology of expression, coordination and citizen construction that represents local solutions that can be moved through both regions».
CIVICS, a project of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), allows to visualize and connect the transforming and collective potential in urban life. It registers some 4,500 innovation initiatives in 34 cities of Ibero-America, which represents some 22,000 people proposing alternatives and generating creative solutions to improve their environment.
