The Spanish government yesterday expressed its condemnation of the violence in Nicaragua and demanded that all the deaths occurred during the crisis must be investigated and judged, according to a statement released yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In his first reaction to the Nicaraguan conflict, the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, demands to be «judge» the numerous deaths recorded, condemns «all acts of violence recently occurred in Nicaragua» and reiterates «the need to respect the right of demonstration and the freedom of assembly and expression».
It also supports the work of the General Secretariat of the Organization of American States and the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights, as well as the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The Special Declaration adopted by the Heads of State and Government of SICA is also valued «very positively» and is recognized «very especially» the mediation work carried out by the Episcopal Conference of Nicaragua.
