The State Risk Committee (CRE in its Spanish acronym) has decided to open CESCE coverage for the operations of Spanish companies in Rwanda. The new coverage policy sets a limit of 80 million euros for projects in the middle and long term with the Rwandan public sector and the operations to be carried out with the country’s private sector will be studied case by case.
Each operation that covers the risk of sovereign credit will have to be taken before the Delegate Committee of the Government for Economic Affairs (CDGAE in its Spanish acronym) for being a country included in the initiative HIPC (Heavily Indebted Poor Countries). For operations in the short term in Rwanda, the coverage of CESCE is open without restrictions both for the public and private sectors.
