Yesterday, the Minister of Economy, Luis de Guindos, was in favour, from Brussels, to add, to the black list of tax havens created by the European Union, a “grey list” including those jurisdictions that are improving in the compliance of the international regulations on tax evasion.
When asked about whether Gibraltar could be included in the black list of tax havens, the minister remembered that the Rock “is still community territory”, but when the United Kingdom leaves the European Union “it will be subjected” to the regulations of this list, which is limited to third countries, not to members of the EU. About Andorra, he affirmed that “it is in the process to improve”.
