The Ibero-American Foreign Ministries value very positively the work that the Ibero-American Secretary General, Rebeca Grynspan, has developed since she took up the position on 1 April 2014.
Foreign Ministers and representatives of all the countries of the Ibero-American Conference met on Wednesday in New York, within the framework of the 72nd UN General Assembly, to move forward in the preparation works of the XXVI Summit of Heads of State and Government to take place in November 2018 in La Antigua, Guatemala, under the slogan “A prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Ibero-America”. The meeting will focus on the implementation of the Agenda 2030 of Sustainable Development.
The representatives of Ibero-American Foreign Ministries valued very positively the work carried out by the Ibero-American Secretary General, Rebeca Grynspan, in this period of renovation of the Ibero-American Conference, which is consolidating as a constructive space of understanding for the region, according to the SEGIB in a statement.
In a different statement, the Spanish Foreign Ministry transmits the “gratitude and support” of the minister Alfonso Dastis to the Ibero-American Secretary General and to Guatemala, a country holding the Pro Tempore Secretariat at the moment.
During the meeting held in New York, all the countries expressed, clearly and unanimously, their solidarity with Mexico, because of the strong earthquake suffered on Tuesday, and with the countries of the Caribbean, hardly affected by the natural disasters that have been taking place in the last weeks.
